With the advent of computer technology it has moved into a whole new realm of dream making; through the stunning special effects of films like Lord of the Rings and Star Wars to interactive animation on the internet, revolution is taking place. A whole new generation of film-makers have discovered the wonders of animation.

The enthusiasm and support for an animation film festival in Exeter was first unearthed during a feasibility study undertaken by Exeter City Council in 1998. Animated Exeter was launched in 2000. With its rich mix of programming, from the best of international short animation films, workshops and exhibitions ensures a local and enthusiastic family audience.
