Six of the pupils will work on the animation and four will work on the soundtrack. These one-day workshops have proved tremendously popular with pupils and teachers, and many schools re-enter the competitions each year.

Yesterday a panel consisting of Helen Nabarro (BBC Animation Unit) Sarah-Jane Meredith (South West Screen) Susannah Shaw (Animated Exeter) selected the following films for the UK student animation competition forAnimated Exeter 2003.

The screening will take place on Thurs 27th Feb at the Exeter Picture house at 11.30pm.The winner will be selected by a panel including: Michael Dudok de Wit- (Monk and the Fish, Father and Daughter; Richard Goleszowski -Rex the Runt, Robbie the Reindeer, Creature Comforts, Aardman in production; Jayne Pilling (Director British Animation Awards ); David Freedman and Alan Gilbey: Peafur Production; Sara Bor (Honeycomb Animation).
