Workshop: 3D Character Design

Venue: The Harry Hems Centre
Date: 16th February, 10am–4pm

Animator and model maker Gill Bliss will take you through the fundamentals of character design based on anthropomorphic ideas: working from two dimensional explorations and planning, through to three dimensional sculpting of industry type maquettes. This workshop will be useful to those interested in 2D, stop-motion and CGI character work. All materials supplied.

Gill Bliss has been working freelance in the Animation Industry for 16 years, working on such productions as Chicken Run, The Tortoise and the Hare, Creature Comforts, and Wallace and Gromit and the Curse of the Were-Rabbit. In her own practice as a sculptor, she exhibits figures and drawings developing a theme of anthropomorphic and zoomorphic characters. At present she is undertaking PHD research in animation at Loughborough University.
