EvoluMental - Forkbeard Fantasy Projection

Venue: Exeter Cathedral

A spectacular projection in the heart of the city by legendary performance and film trick luminaries, Forkbeard Fantasy will be staged from the 16th - 18th of February. Forkbeard Fantasy will provide a dazzling central event to the main weekend of the festival from Thursday 16th- Saturday 18th. Titled Evolumental by Forkbeard Fantasy, these projections are created for and commissioned by Animated Exeter 2012, supported by Arts Council England.

Spectators will witness the birth of creation and its destruction as the giant hand of The Animator draws, doodles and paints an animated evolution using the ancient building as a canvas. Primeval swamps give birth to trilobites; early fish and reptiles crawl out, rise up and fly; then revolve across the buildings around the Cathedral Green and Yard.

Forkbeard will be making 8 separate film animations, some inside the cathedral, back projecting into the great Rose window. Outside, others will project onto the building and tower on the North Side, then project animations across the buildings that surround the Cathedral.

Repeated at regular intervals through the evening
